Originality is rare in country music – and Dawson Gray is determined to lead. Known for sharp songwriting and high-energy live shows, the young Canadian has built an impressive résumé: countless sold-out headline dates across Canada, over 7 million worldwide streams, and support slots for ERNEST, Dasha, Cameron Whitcomb, Jordan Davis, and James Barker Band.
Originally pursuing professional baseball, Dawson’s path shifted after an unexpected eye-disorder diagnosis ended his playing career. He picked up a guitar in university, began busking in downtown Kelowna, BC in 2021, and by 2023 left his post-grad job to chase music full-time.
His singles “Friends With The Bar Staff” (2024) and “Chevy Back” (2025) earned Apple Music playlist cover placements, while “Back To Leaving” surpassed 1 million streams. In 2025, he released his debut EP Chevy Back and toured it across Canada, including eight dates with Dasha. He opened 2026 with single “When We Die,” signaling a bold new chapter.
