Outline: We are excited to announce a new monthly addition to The Duke Saloon’s music calendar! Throwdown Thursdays will shine a spotlight on local talent, helping you find your new favorite bands from among Victoria’s rising stars.
Band Bios:
EVIL!:
Ex Teenage Violets members /Victory to Vinyl winners / Zone Band of the Month / Tone Buffs. A band dripping with sex, reverb, fuzz, and David Lynch films.
Low Boys:
Post-hardcore from Victoria, BC. Low Boys’ melodic bass lines, pummeling drums, chiming riffs, and full-throated bellowing mix together into a searing, soaring, scabrous, serrated death blues. Take two parts rain-swept 90s Pacific Northwest indie (Modest Mouse, Unwound, Lync), one-part late 70s post-punk (Pere Ubu, Talking Heads), add a dash of misanthropy (Jesus Lizard, Afghan Whigs), stir aggressively.
OddSum:
Odd-Rock Three piece from Victoria blending genres into an audio milkshake.
