He also earned two Western Canadian Music Award nominations\, was named a SiriusXM Top of the Country semi-finalist\, placed second in Alberta Music’s Project Wild\, and shared stages with notable artists like The Black Crowes\, Kip Moore\, Our Lady Peace\, and Dean Brody. His music has garnered over one million global streams. \nKyle continued to build on his momentum with new music releases\, including singles like “Mercy\,” “River Rain\,” and “Grandfather\,” which showcased his growth as a songwriter and his powerful voice. He collaborated with Juno Award-winning producer/guitarist/songwriter Russell Broom. \nOne of his latest singles\, “Whispering Pines\,” is a duet with his wife\, Sarah\, and has gained recognition in the current country music scene. The song reflects the challenges faced by families when one parent is working away from home\, and the other takes care of things at home\, capturing the emotions and struggles of such situations. \nKyle’s music is deeply rooted in his small-town upbringing in northern British Columbia and his family’s Metis heritage. DESCRIPTION:Trophy Dad Album Fundraiser\nFeaturing Posh Coat\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, May 16th\, 2024\n\n\n\n\nDoors: 8PM\nShow Wrap-Up: 12AM\n\n\n\n19+\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Trophy Dad and Posh Coat for a night of rock and roll good times in the name of raising money to finish off the upcoming Trophy Dad EP “A Little Taste”\, we’ve got some awesome prizes to give away and fun times to be had! \nTo get candid with you\, we’ve recorded some of the best songs we’ve ever created and we want to release them the right way\, so to finish the record and circulate the music properly we need fundraise some money to get us over the hump and get the songs into the right hands. \nCreating music these days as a band is a tough\, tall order but we are dedicated to keeping the rock and roll flame burning bright so on May 16th come on down to the Duke Saloon\, buy some merch and celebrate Trophy Dad finally releasing new music. \nBIO \nTrophy Dad is a rock n roll outfit from Victoria BC\, Forged through pain\, suffering and countless hardships\, this band of misfit toys chose to utilize playing high energy rock shows as therapy… Mainly because it was the closest thing to therapy they could afford ultimately proving that tough times don’t last but the people do. These good time rock and rollers might break a heart or two but promise to put it back together in 4 chords or less. \nBringing that weekend energy every time they step on stage so it’s fair to say if Friday was a band\, it would be Trophy Dad. \nAs per government regulations\, we require two pieces of valid ID for entry\, including one piece of government issued Photo ID. Throwdown Thursdays will shine a spotlight on local talent\, helping you find your new favorite bands from among Victoria’s rising stars.Band Bios: \nThe New Owners: \nThe New Owners are a 5-piece indie rock / indie pop band from Langford BC consisting of dual frontmen Elijah Driver and Jamie Beaman both on guitar and vocals\, Brandon Weatherell on bass\, Tyler Thomassen on drums\, and Erik Evans on keys. The 5-piece outfit sport sweet and sticky grooves underneath warm\, catchy melodies with a colorful combination of chorused-out guitars\, spacey synths\, and the upbeat tempo of their indie rock roots\, taking inspiration from indie pop bands like Men I Trust\, Mac Demarco\, and Her’s. \n\nTrouble on the Outskirts: \nTrouble on the Outskirts began in the thralls of a smokey jazz club in downtown Victoria BC. The initial duo of guitarist (Max Mackrill) and drummer (Michael Tessier) began crafting songs by pulling inspiration from the likes of Sam Fender\, Arkells and The Killers. They were soon joined by local talent\, including bassist (Jared Sundberg)\, keyboardist (Erik Evans)\, and finally guitarist (Cole Senger)\, quickly expanding to establish their own unique sound. They lovingly called this identity “Indie Twang Rock”. \nSam Kaiser: \nA singer-songwriter from Hong Kong who is now based in Victoria\, Sam’s approach to music is reflective of his mixed heritage and upbringing across the world.  He explores themes of distance\, longing\, and hope while acknowledging growth and his own perception of the world around him.  His intricate fingerpicking and layers of guitar and vocals complement his stripped-back style\, which is ever evolving\, much like him. \n\nAs per government regulations\, we require two pieces of valid ID for entry\, including one piece of government issued Photo ID.
